Mythgard’s own Dr. Amy H. Sturgis will be on the road in the next couple of weeks. Two of her upcoming lectures are free and open to the public. If you’re in the area, please drop by and say hello! It would be terrific to use this as a chance for Mythgardians to meet in person.
- On Thursday, Oct. 25, her talk will be “Rethinking the Trail of Tears: Liberty, Constitutionalism and the Cherokee People” (based on her book The Trail of Tears and Indian Removal and her recent short documentary) at the University of Louisville in Louisville, Kentucky. Get more information here.
- On Monday, Oct. 29, her talk will be “Finding Dumbledore’s Mother: Harry Potter in the (Native) American Context” (based on her forthcoming article of the same name, to be published in 2013) at Harry PotterFest 2012 in Hickory, North Carolina. The next day, she’ll be conducting a public interview with the Rev. Danielle Tumminio, author of God and Harry Potter at Yale. Get more information here.
