Talking Adaptation with Jim Butcher

When: Tuesday, Oct. 13 at 8pm ET (register)

In today’s film and television world, it seems there is nothing new under the sun. Adaptation is king, parading familiar faces and stories on both the big and small screen. Of course, not all adaptations are created equal. What makes a solid adaptation? What separates the wheat from the chaff? Tune in as the SilmFilm crew talks adaptation with Jim Butcher, author of The Dresden Files, Codex Alera, and the new Cinder Spires series.

With three successful book series and a television show to his credit, Jim Butcher is well established in fantasy genres. And he is no stranger to adaptation, having had his Dresden Files series adapted for television.

If you’ve read some or all of the Dresden series, you are sure to have spotted Tolkien easter eggs. Butcher is also an avid Tolkien fan and we will be getting his take on Peter Jackson’s The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings trilogies. And there might even be some SilmFilm talk!

We hope you’ll join us!
